Accuracy:
The 'from now' time displayed below the pointer doesn't update in real time (see Note 1) except when the time to alarm is small (see Note 1 below). However; the display can updated immediately by pressing Esc, the space bar, Return, clicking the clock (upper right) or clicking over the ruler somewhere.
The actual accuracy of the alarms is approximately +/- 50ms or 0.050 seconds, more than adequately accurate for most purposes.
The accuracy with which you can set the time with either the mouse or the keyboard (see Moving timers is limited by the level of zoom as set in the zoom drop down. see Zoom
If you want to set the time to the exact second when the maximum zoom prevents you from doing it with the mouse; use the Time pointer properties dialog. If you set the time in this dialog DO NOT be tempted to subsequently move the timer with the mouse/keyboard or you won't be able to place it back at exactly the same time (unless you happen to be lucky) without accessing the Time pointer properties dialog again.
Note 1: As the timer approaches 'now' the sampling rate increases and the display will count down in seconds.
